Applications are due next week (link below).
We have an exciting lineup of Telemundo speakers for a series of interactive Zoom-based sessions. The program kickoff will happen in mid-January with the first speaker session happening the week of January 24. Tentative time and dates for the sessions are 3:30 p.m. Eastern on:
January 26
February 9
February 23
March 30
April 27
May 25
June 8
Past lecturers from Telemundo include: Mirta Ojito, Senior Director of News Standards; Ricdamis Garcia, Senior Broadcast Producer, Irma Negroni, Head Writer, Al Rojo Vivo, Jeff Leibman, Director of News Operations and Production, Grace Gonzalez, Executive Producer and former News Correspondent, and Eli Velazquez, Executive Vice President of Programming Production and Content, Telemundo Deportes.
The program is open to 9-12 grade students. And, where appropriate, we encourage (but do not require) that students participating in the Academy enroll in the accompanying Mass Communications dual enrollment course through Doral College.
If your school would like to participate, or you simply want more information, please reply ASAP to colegiatv@colegia.org. For students participating in the college course, we will help you and their counselors guide them through the Doral College enrollment process.
To ensure a sustainable and vibrant creative culture, we are hoping to see a diverse pool of applicants with various interests, backgrounds, passions, and talents. We encourage you to share this information throughout your school community, including students, faculty, and staff.
