3 Strategies to Succeed on i-Ready
Staying at peak performance for tests can help students stay ahead in a competitive environment. i-Ready is one such test that many students may find themselves taking. Today we're here to show you 3 strategies to succeed on i-Ready.
Mentally Prepare Yourself
One of the defining aspects of i-Ready is its ability to personalize the test based on performance. With a dynamic system that changes questions on the fly, students will need to be ready to adapt to any situation. The two major components to i-Ready involve reading and mathematics. The diagnostic test is designed to have students score roughly half the questions correct to reach their estimated placement. Going in with this knowledge allows students to be patient with themselves and ready for the results.
Make The Most of Your Time During The Test
Tests can be a time of deep concentration for students. Making the most of that time is key to succeeding on i-Ready. Given the dynamic nature of the test, it is good to devote a certain amount of time to each question. Certain questions are designed to be of a higher difficulty than others and students need to allot more effort into those.
Using The Results to Grow
i-Ready features a “My Results” section which is a fantastic resource to help gauge progress. This section shows students how well they performed in certain areas. If students need help on certain aspects of math, such as long term division, they can take additional time to practice for future assessments. i-Ready heavily encourages students to take initiative and learn from their past. By being able to see the specifics, students can take the time to improve and excel.
Ready to Succeed?
With all of this in mind, students will have a better basis on how to thrive on i-Ready. We hope to see students give it their all!
