3 Ways to Practice Self-Care

Self-care is the most important and beneficial thing you can do for your wellbeing. Learning to give yourself the same appreciation and love you so easily give to others can be harder than it sounds. We often spend much time doing things for others and putting so much effort into making the people we love happy that we may forget about ourselves. You deserve just as much effort as you would give anyone else. Here are three tips to give you a push into practicing self-care.

Remember The Happy Moments

The first tip on the list is to give a gift to your inner child every once in a while. What did you love doing when you were younger? Did you enjoy watching a specific show or eating certain foods? Treat yourself to whatever it is that reminds you of your childhood and happy times. This will be a great chance to walk down memory lane and let those warm feelings lift your mood.

Disconnect From Social Media

Unplugging from social media and technology for a while is also a good tip for self-care. Although social media allows you to stay connected with friends and it can be fun, it can also have some negative effects especially when it comes to your self esteem. It’s normal to see what everyone around you is doing and constantly compare yourself to others but this can be dangerous in the long run. Give yourself some time away from the unhealthy environment of social media and focus on yourself and what’s happening in your life.

Express Yourself And Dance!

The final tip is to dance! Put on some of your favorite music and get moving. This is the perfect activity to exercise your body while letting out any negative emotions and just having fun. Dance around in your room alone and enjoy the freedom to do whatever you want. We often forget that we don’t need people to have fun, you’re more than enough. So please be kind to yourself and this week as we approach the new year, consider making self-care a part of your new year’s resolution. Start prioritizing yourself and your happiness!
