Finding Peace Through Your Actions

Our thoughts are linked to our actions in many ways. Sometimes it can feel like our thoughts can lead us towards bad decisions at times since we might not be in the best headspace. With that in mind, our actions can help us form more positive thoughts and help us retrain our minds to think in a more constructive manner. Today we want to delve into how we can find peace through our actions.

Make Space For Yourself

Recognizing how you feel is essential for your well-being. Putting in our best effort for the things we need to do can be hard when our heart isn't fully invested in something. It can be the result of exhaustion, or simply not being interested in something. Giving ourselves the time needed to do what fills us with joy can make a world of difference. Hobbies give us the means to express how we truly feel while exercise can give our bodies a means of venting frustration. Quiet time is another means of helping us make space for ourselves. Time spent in silence by either meditating or simply appreciating the calmness can retrain our minds to slow down and cherish the moment.

Enjoy Nature

Nature can help us find peace through our actions as well. Going to the park to study with friends or to simply spend some time can be therapeutic. Being in nature is a reminder that the natural world moves in its own cadence without issue. It helps us reflect on all the other creatures and plants that live alongside us. Looking at the simplicity of nature can be a nice reminder that there are times when we need to not overthink things and go with the flow. Meditative walks throughout nature can help us clear our minds when we have a lot going on and it can open ourselves up to new perspectives. When we truly need to disconnect, nature is there for us.

Embrace Creativity

By far one of the most effective ways to find peace through your actions is by embracing creativity. Music and learning an instrument is one such example of this. There's a sort of validation that can be found when playing notes even in a more aggressive manner. Peace isn't about denying our negative emotions but rather it's a means of being okay with all of our feelings. Playing music in this case gives us a tool to express those feelings with to make sound out of. The same can be said with other creative interests such as drawing or painting. A blank page or canvas can lead to infinite possibilities and each of these are important because they're a means of expressing oneself. On certain days we may feel more inclined to write about something serene while others can be more focused on issues we're facing. It's important to acknowledge the validity of our emotions since only through action can we find the peace to accept them.
