How Expression And Happiness Are Linked

When it comes to feeling comfortable expressing ourselves there are many different elements to consider. In the best outcome, we'd feel comfortable saying what's on our minds in most situations. Sometimes it's harder to do this since we might overthink what others think of us. Other times it can simply be hard to find the words to say how we feel. Today we want to talk about some ways to help with this and how happiness plays a role here.

Expression In Social Settings

It's good to consider how we feel around others when we're saying how we feel. Good friends are receptive to our thoughts along with our goals. They'll do their best to help be supportive of our choices along with listening to us when need be. A healthy friend group makes us feel confident with who we are and doesn't judge us. Finding people who are accepting is worth the effort since it's the hallmark of positivity. With that in mind, even if we are sharing how we feel, we do need to consider the feelings of others. Being authentic while also being diplomatic are great qualities to have. This ensures that we're being true to ourselves while respecting the viewpoints of others. Being happy with the people we surround ourselves with can make it easier to be ourselves and share our thoughts and feelings.

Expression In Our Creative Works

Having a creative outlet can help immensely with expression. Art allows us to reflect on past experiences while being able to put a constructive spin on them. Writing fiction for example can give us the means of putting ourselves in others’ shoes by writing about characters we create. This can in turn help us have a better perspective on the world around us by seeing the world through their eyes. Music is another means of this as well since we might gravitate towards certain genres or instruments. Each of these highlights a different area that can convey what we're experiencing. Painting is another example of this since we can try to make our ideas have a more visual element to them. Everyone experiences the world differently and finding the creative medium to express that can make a world of difference.

Expression And Satisfaction

When we feel truly happy with expressing who we are, we usually feel a sense of satisfaction. This can be a result of all the effort we've put into trying to convey our thoughts. It can be in the form of telling our friends how we feel or finishing up an art piece we're particularly proud of. It takes time and discipline to build up the courage needed to share your thoughts since it's something that needs to be honed. Happiness in this case is a direct result of the time and energy we put into the reflection needed for expression. Expressing ourselves properly is the key to good communication since it helps us build better relationships with those around us.
