While some things do require an expert, a lot of the information for simple tech tasks is already available and it's a matter of finding it. Other things we can also learn by browsing through our devices more. Our phone is a great example of this since it's easier than ever to find the functions we need via settings or using the app store for things we may need later. It's good to feel confident with what you own since it can streamline the process.

Another reason why digital literacy is so important is that it helps to build many of the skills necessary for success. One of the best modern examples of this is how writing is handled for classes. While many courses do still require physically writing down things for assignments, essays are mainly done via a word processor. The benefit to this is its ease of access given that some form of it is on essentially every computer these days along with free software for machines that need it. Presentations are also assisted through technology with things such as PowerPoint. The benefit of these is providing a better visual aid for the audience. Both examples are relevant in many different fields since they fundamentally change how we interact with different creative mediums.

Being Prepared

Staying ahead of the curve and being prepared is one of the best things we can do for ourselves. Technology is causing many different fields to rapidly change and learning how to work alongside it with the new tools available can help us immensely. Our mindset is a big factor in this since it can determine our relationship with technology. There are many things it's done to help simplify our day-to-day lives and seeing the benefits of us can help us view it in a more positive light. Having a desire to be more digitally literate ensures that we're willing to adapt so that we can make the most of our technological abilities. Little things such as keyboard shortcuts, being better at crafting an email, or simply just having a better understanding of software functions all contribute to our digital literacy.
