Why Being Generous is Worth it

Generosity is a great quality that can help so many people involved. There are many people out there in need of some form of help whether it be time or resources and there is a lot we can do. It's good to be mindful of the difference our actions can make and how generosity can play a role in this. Today we want to talk about why being generous is worth it for everyone involved.

Giving Time to The Community

Belonging and acceptance are two things that come naturally the more we feel comfortable in our community. People ultimately want to work together and the best way to do that is by being involved with those near us. Our school is one such example of this since there are volunteer options available. Taking part in these events can give people who truly need help something to look forward to. It's good to remember that we're surrounded by people and working together is important for our well-being. We're stronger with people by our side and recognizing what we can give back to the community can make things better overall.

Generosity is Gratitude in Action

Gratitude is an incredible quality to have as well since it teaches us to be thankful for the things we have. Being able to put our thoughts into positive action is best seen with generosity. There's wrong with simply being thankful for the people we have in our lives but action does help make it more effective. Getting someone an unexpected gift can make them feel special and cared for. Random acts of kindness even to newer people is great since it sends forth a message of positivity. Giving someone the time to listen to them or even small gestures by holding open a door or paying for their food can make their day. It takes an active effort to put generosity into action and it's worth all the time and energy.

Building Bridges

It's easy to feel like we're on an island on some days when it comes to spending time with others. Breaking out of that feeling can be difficult but not impossible. One of the reasons why we might feel like this could be because we have a wall up. By far one of the most effective ways to help lower our guard is by leading your life through love and positive action. Many people are surprised with generosity since it's something they don't expect. It's also interesting to consider why that is. It could simply be the result of people being too focused on themselves and all the challenges they face. The powerful thing about generosity is that it forces us to look outside of ourselves to help build bridges with others. It's important since we ultimately need these connections with people to have a sense of stability and acceptance and we can only do that by taking the first step to let someone else know that we care.
