Balancing School

Being a good student can involve a lot of complex things to do. Getting good grades plays a role in this along with establishing a healthy social network and building the skills needed to be successful in life. Balance also plays a key role in this which is why we want to talk about how to balance school and other areas within it.

Plan Accordingly

Planning is the cornerstone for balance since it helps us set aside enough time for each thing. Having a good blend of planning and flexibility is good since both of them are needed for a happy life. Planning is helpful since it helps us put down our thoughts on paper and lets us sort through the things we need to do. An important test for example requires us to dedicate more time to studying it since it's worth more for our grade. Likewise, a group project requires us to work around several different schedules so we can accomplish things. Learning how to communicate with others in this instance is needed for planning since there are many things we need to keep in mind.

Give Yourself Space to Grow

Having the space to grow also plays a role in balancing school. While it's tempting to want to plan everything down to the last little detail, life often shows us that we can't plan everything. This can be a good thing since it shows us the value of flexibility. Giving yourself the time and space to be yourself is crucial for growth since we're constantly learning about who we are and what we care about. A good example of this is setting aside enough time for extra things during the day such as a hangout with a friend or some time to yourself. These both come with the benefit of taking care of both your social and emotional needs. Everyone has unique things that fuel them as far as motivation and understanding what prompts you to take positive action is important. It's good to remember that balance can help us appreciate multiple areas of our lives.

Be Aware of Your Feelings

Your feelings are a great metric to determine how satisfied you are with your current sense of balance. Being able to tune into these can take an active effort. Meditation is one such way we can do this since it gives us a quiet means of reflecting on our thoughts. We can opt to do a mindfulness meditation to help experience what we are feeling which can tell us what steps we should take. If we're happy with what we're doing we can relish in this or take it as an opportunity to examine why it makes us feel good. If we feel that there's something making us unhappy we can do a deep dive and try to see what elements about it we can change. Sometimes it's as simple as changing our mentality which can in turn help steer us towards positive action.
