Balancing Things For The Present And Future

It's good to consider whether our minds are focused on the past, present, or future. If we're consistently thinking about the past, chances are we aren't enjoying the here and now. If we're too focused on the future, we might be giving up too much enjoyment in the moment. If we're only thinking about the present, we won't be able to draw upon past knowledge or take care of ourselves in the future. Being able to balance this type of thinking is important which is why today we want to work on some ways to make it easier.

Work Towards A Better Future

Ensuring that we have a good future can only be done when we put in an active effort. It's up to us to take the time to be lifelong learners and educate ourselves outside of the classroom. Things such as learning how to cooperate with others or learning about a new skill can be done at any time. The key here is that it has to be something we genuinely want to do. This is the best way to retain these skills along with having the discipline to make it part of our daily routine. Little things such as saving extra money for later or exercising to help our health can go a long way towards improving the quality of our lives. We have all the tools needed to work towards a brighter future, we just need to make the time for it.

“Ensuring that we have a good future can only be done when we put in an active effort.”

Respect Your Past Efforts

It's good to be mindful of our past experiences since they help shape us into who we are. An example of this can be remembering the first time you made someone laugh or by improving someone else’s day. Our feelings can help give us insight as to how we've reacted in the past to things and can give us a foundation to work with. It's healthy to recognize that hindsight is 20-20 and while we might be tempted to say we could have done something better, we need to understand that we've learned since then. It's good to understand that most people are actively doing their best at any point in time and working with the information they have. We need to respect our own and others’ efforts for past decisions since we may have done the same given the situation.

“It's good to be mindful of our past experiences since they help shape us into who we are.”

Cherish The Moment

If there's any concept we want to take to heart it's that we ultimately want to cherish the moment. The present is all we truly have and if our mind isn't in the here and now, then we're not being mindful of what's in front of us. Practicing gratitude is a great means of doing this since it takes into account all the wonderful things we have going for us in our lives. It can be a stable network of friends, courses we enjoy learning, or even our health. The present shows us the value of staying in the moment along with prioritizing doing things that can make us happy now. Little things such as going for a walk or listening to music can motivate us to do the things that bring us fulfillment.
