Both of these concepts can help in life because they allow us to know what's within our realm of change along with our own personal skill ceilings. Musical expression is unique to what someone wants to get out of an instrument and our education helps by giving us the framework needed to understand theory along with helping us perform. We don't need to be an expert to appreciate music. At the end of the day, it's a sound, and the sound we enjoy is what counts.

Music can be healing and make life much easier with it around. The act of playing an instrument can be pivotal to managing stress and provide a much-needed sense of empowerment for those looking for a creative outlet. Simply listening to music after a long day can help us decompress and forget about all the things we did that day. It can function as a means of seeing new perspectives and giving a voice to the feelings we're experiencing. School recognizes the value of this and playing instruments can improve students’ health in a myriad of ways. It helps students form stronger mental connections when it comes to memorization and concentration since remembering notes and how to access them takes effort. Learning musical theory takes a lot of creative energy because once learned, it allows students to compose the pieces they want. Overall music provides both happiness and purpose which is all the more reason why it's so important in our education.
