Embracing Challenges

There will be many different challenges that we face throughout both our academic journey and our lives. Challenges are something that can be difficult but can help us in a surprising amount of ways. Today we want to talk about why its good to embrace challenge.

They Build You up

Challenges have their own unique way of building you up despite their difficulty. This is done in several ways. Doing something difficult can give you a sense of accomplishment because of the time invested in it. A good example of this would be studying for a future test. Putting in time toward studying can help you hone your skills and let you build up things such as self-confidence. Challenges can help you in many other ways as well. They give you an opportunity to work together with others as well. Team skills in particular are one element of this in which challenges can be constructive. Teamwork is important because there are many instances where we will do group work. Challenges push us toward other good qualities such as communicating freely and working toward things that we may not expect we can do.

They Promote Creativity

Challenges are an effective means of promoting creativity because they require us to think outside of the box more. Many instances of problem-solving aren't necessarily clear-cut and will require us to tap into our inner strengths. Each of us has our own talents and skills we use to work on things and promoting things such as awareness can help us find value in them. One way to integrate elements of creativity is by using brainstorming. This allows us to write down all of our thoughts in a cohesive manner and lets us see which ones are applicable for the task at hand. Embracing challenges requires us to find a sense of harmony with our thoughts and actions and using creativity can help us do exactly that.

They Let You Appreciate Things More

Challenges are a great way of helping you appreciating things more. One way this applies is when we consider things that are easy to accomplish. Easier tasks are often things that we may wind up doing unconsciously and not require as much effort. While easier things are nice every now and then, they don't often have the same sort of time investment as something such as a difficult challenge. This is important because we want to feel that we are progressing with the tasks we are doing. Gratitude is another aspect that can be found from doing challenging things. In group settings having someone else by our side to help us with something difficult can make us feel more connected. It reminds us that there are people who experience similar things and that teamwork can help us accomplish any task. Challenges give us an opportunity to learn, not just about ourselves but also about the world around us. Entering these with an open mind can give you a new perspective on difficult things and enjoy them in the process.
