How Happiness Comes From Within

Happiness is something that can be rather complex. Certain things can make us happy but another more sustainable mindset involves rethinking it entirely. Today we want to talk about how happiness comes from within.

External Happiness

One of the biggest issues surrounding the idea of external happiness is that it can be fleeting. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as there are many things out there that can contribute to our sense of happiness and well-being. Great examples of this are food that we enjoy or a movie that we watch to help ourselves feel better. Both of these elements are good to keep in our lives and can provide us with a good feeling afterward. Relying on these entirely can be a slippery slope as it can make our feelings dependent on external circumstances. Being mindful of how these activities make us feel along with recognizing that they are a mood enhancer is a better way to look at it. This mindset allows you to be responsible for your own feelings while not letting negative external events affecting you as much.

Internal Happiness

Internal happiness is a different means of keeping a good state of well-being. This type of happiness focuses on how we can provide a sort of sustainable type of joy. This is good as it can help us feel better in the long term. Self-love is a great example of internal happiness. Self-love can promote a sense of good feeling by making us feel appreciated. This is crucial as it can help in other areas as well such as motivation. Motivation can be another form of internal happiness as it can keep us in a good frame of mind which will help us with our productivity. Being motivated also has the added benefit of broadening our horizons for trying new things. Life has many great aspects to it that are more easily appreciated when we try them when we are happy.

Our Emotions Demonstrate Responsibility

Like any emotion, happiness is something that is easier to provide when we accept responsibility for our emotions. Yes, external factors have an influence on them and we need to be mindful of that. Our own sense of happiness can be hard to build up as it takes a lifelong commitment. With these in mind, it can give us a sense of empowerment when we attribute our feelings to ourselves. Only we can tell ourselves whether something makes us happy and it's good to understand that. Whether you're spending time with family or meditating to help calm the mind, both of these are great ways to help give you more choice in your life. Happiness is a state of mind and learning to be content regardless of where you are in your life can help you feel like you are more in control.

Life can have its ups and downs but self-love, happiness, and good people by your side can make things much better for everyone involved.
