Making Space For Change

For many of us, change can be one of the hardest things to accept. This is mainly because it can be so different than what we're used to. Being able to make it past this mindset is important since it can help us see things in a more positive light. Today we want to do a deep dive and discuss why it's important to make space for change.

Going With The Flow

Change is something that is in a constant state of motion. Similar to a river, it is always flowing. Rather than trying to force our way to swim up the stream of change, it's much better for us to go along with it. This approach gives us the ability to see it in a more positive light. When change is something that we voluntarily go along with, it can be much easier to see the positive side of things. A great example of this can be saying yes to spending time with others doing things we usually don't do. For example, if you're the kind of person who typically spends their afternoons at home, it could be worth going outside with friends to admire new scenery. This in turn allows us to see what else is out there in the world while maintaining a healthy mindset.

Embrace Opportunity

One state of change that some of us have experienced is a sense of failure. Failing at things is something that all of us do and it's crucial since it can teach us how to work on what we care about in the right manner. One good mindset shift is re-framing how we look at this as an opportunity instead. Many of us can benefit from this since it effectively teaches us that there are healthier ways to embrace the unexpected. A great example of this can be moving somewhere new. While it may seem intimidating at first trying to make sense of all the new things, it can potentially be the gateway to a new and happier outcome. Learning how to view change as a catalyst for opportunity is a fantastic mindset shift since it can ultimately make you happier.

Focus on Perspective

By far one of the last major things to consider when it comes to making space for change is our ability to focus on our perspective. Similar to going with the flow and embracing opportunity, how we view change is the true factor in how well we adapt to it. We can see change as this ever-moving force that we work with, or we can try our best to work against it. It can be seen as an omen of things to come or a sign that things are moving towards a better outlook. One of these options in both scenarios is based on a more optimistic perspective and it's crucial to be aware of that. Change isn't necessarily good or bad, rather it's our perspective, the lens we use to view the world that can truly empower us.
