Your Friend Group Influences You

You’ve probably heard the saying “you are who you surround yourself with”, and this could not be more true. The people who you choose to be a part of your inner circle will inevitably shape who you are. You might not realize that your peers have an influence on who you are as a person or what you do, but the impact they have is subtle which is why it’s extremely important for you to choose your friends carefully. Choose friends with good morals, good intentions, and who respect you and your decisions. A good group of peers will add to your happiness and success.

They Make Learning Enjoyable

Having strong connections with your peers, especially during middle school and high school, will make learning more enjoyable. You are more likely to enjoy going to school and become more involved if you have friends that make it fun. Without your peers, school might feel more like an obligation, which in turn, will affect your performance. Great friends push you to be your best possible self. They are those who are a positive influence and exhibit qualities that you like and respect. If you surround yourself with hard-working, kind, and generous people, you are more likely to adopt those characteristics yourself. However, good friends don’t ask you to change, they see you and accept you for who you are, they just want to see you be the best person you can be.

Friends Provide Emotional Support

Friends provide much-needed emotional support. When you’re going through a hard time, having someone by your side that supports you can make it much easier. Supportive friends also help boost your confidence. They provide much-needed reassurance and praise when you’re feeling insecure. They help you see all your great qualities and raise your self-esteem. Even if you feel you can’t pass a test or do well on an assignment, the right people will help you feel empowered and sure of yourself.

Your peers are an extremely important part of your life that have more influence and impact than you imagine. Don’t forget to be kind to yourself, and your friends as they can help you immensely
