Handling Disagreements

Hobbies are a great way for us to do things that we truly care about. Balancing multiple hobbies can be difficult once we factor in the logistics of life but thankfully there are ways to help with this. Today we want to talk about how to do this and why it matters.

Prioritize Things by Interest

One hurdle we may face when it comes to our hobbies is simply having too many of them. Realistically there is only so much time in the day and we won't have time to do all of these things. A good way to help with this is to prioritize our hobbies based on how interested we are in them. For example, we may want to learn how to do photography, track running, or even programming. All of these are very enjoyable in their own right and can open up new opportunities in our lives, If time is limited, we can try to pick two out of these three and work our way from there. Doing track running and programming for example gives us an outlet for physical activities along with creativity for coding. Perhaps we want more creative outlets in our lives and may opt for photography and something else entirely. Self-awareness is good since it can help us learn more about ourselves and how to spend our time.

Break Down Each Step

Once we have a good semblance of what we want to do, it’s a matter of how to get there. Breaking down each step is a fantastic way for us to accomplish the things we want from our hobbies. We can do this by writing down what comprises a task. For example, if we want to get into track running we need to incorporate a good exercise routine that helps us with this. Stretching before a run along with making sure to take care of your body with good foods are essential elements of this hobby. Sometimes we may forget these steps in a rush to get things done but instead of doing that we'll want to slow our thoughts down and condense things. Over planning is a very real thing and we want our steps to be actionable rather than abstract.

Set Healthy Boundaries

By far one of the most effective aspects of balancing multiple hobbies is setting healthy boundaries. This is crucial because it is a reminder not to let our responsibilities go by the wayside in the pursuit of new hobbies. There's a give and take when it comes to this and being able to use our free time in a manner that allows for both rest and creative exploration is the key to a happy lifestyle. Hobbies offer us a great means to decompress from the stresses of life and giving the right amount of time to them while still valuing our responsibilities is good. It teaches us the values of time management along with helpful life skills that can empower us for the better.
