Gratitude And Giving

If there is any quality that is worth having it is gratitude. This along with the act of giving can help provide happiness both to others and for ourselves. Today we want to talk about the importance of gratitude and giving.

Gratitude in Your Life

There are countless things to be grateful for that we take for granted. Our five senses for instance are one of them. Being able to see, hear, and feel what we are doing helps us both for our schoolwork and our performance. Likewise smell and taste allow us to appreciate some of our favorite meals and scents. Each of these is something we should cherish as they help enhance the quality of our lives. Other things that we may take for granted are our health and family. Our family helps us in many ways by providing us a warm atmosphere and care. They are there for us at our best moments and when we need them the most. Our health is something that affects every part of our lives. Being healthy is one of the most important things as there are many things we can only do when we feel well. Taking time to remind yourself of all the good things you have in your life is worth doing as it can boost your happiness.

Giving And Why it Matters

Giving is another great thing to make time for. This can come in many different shapes and sizes. For example, we can choose to give resources to someone that may be in need. This can be either a friend who needs help with something, your neighbor, or a charity. There are many times where we are doing well in our own lives and we can share that with other people. This is good as it promotes a healthy mindset that lets us spread positivity and kindness. Being able to share those good feelings with others can help them improve their lives. Giving doesn't require material resources either, something as simple as giving your time to someone who is in need can help make a difference. It's never too late to practice generosity!

Putting Them Together

Individually both of these qualities are very good as they demonstrate personal effectiveness along with helping others. Combined though they can tangibly improve the quality of many peoples lives. Charity organizations are one of the best examples of this as it takes the combined efforts from many people who practice generosity to perform great acts. Gratitude affects both the giver and receiver in both ways. When we give we are mindful that we are doing something that can help other people and can share the things we may have an abundance of. When we receive we are thankful for the act and are mindful that we can pay it forward by practicing that same mindset in other areas. You don't need to be rich to give and there are things to be thankful for at every stage in your life.
