Environmental Awareness

All of us have an impact on our environment. This can range from the things we buy to the type of attitude we cultivate around us. Our environment is multifaceted and extends far beyond our homes which is all the more reason why we need to be aware of the things we do.

Our Home

One of the first environments we're introduced to and are most familiar with is our home. It's crucial to have a good sense of comfort here since it's effectively our safe haven from all the challenges we face. Ensuring that our room is clean and conducive to our well-being plays a role in our overall happiness. Being aware of when things need to be adjusted can make us more likely to act in a manner that maintains our overall comfort. Another thing to think about is the things we own. Excess is rarely a good thing and having too much can make us feel weighed down. This doesn't necessarily mean we need to adopt a minimalistic mindset, but there is room to consider mindfulness when it comes to our possessions. It's completely okay to get rid of things we no longer need since it can help us make space for new things in our lives.

Our School

We spend a good portion of our time in school and we want to feel like we can be our best possible selves there. The different classrooms represent a different environment for us to adjust to and we need to be adaptable with the overall tone that they set. Some focus more on group activities and the community side of classwork whereas others require us to be more introspective and independent. Each of these approaches is helpful because they give us different tools needed to succeed and we need to do our part to be open-minded. School gives us a plethora of opportunities to better ourselves and we can also make it better through our actions and taking initiative.

Our Global Environment

While it might seem small in the grand scheme of things, when we consider our footprint on the world we have a big impact on our world. It's good to consider how much waste we create as a result of our habits and spending. While our happiness and well-being do come first, we can still make changes to improve things. Recycling is one of the easiest ways to help since it's simply a matter of organizing the things we get rid of. Donating old goods or selling them can also help with this since we're giving life to old products so that we don't use them anymore. The same applies to buying used as well. Helping others in need is another way we can be considerate of our global environment. Not all of us have the tools or resources we need to thrive and even small acts of kindness help others out more than we could imagine. We can all contribute to a better world and we can do this by promoting positive action.
