Making Happiness a Start of Your Routine

Finding ways to stay happy is essential for our mental well-being. Sometimes there are days when we really need a pick-me-up after a tough test or a lot of homework. One way to do this is by doing things daily that keep you happy. Today we want to discuss why it's important along with some ways to make happiness a part of your routine.

Plan For Fun

In our busy world, sometimes we need to plan out things for fun. This is mainly useful when it comes to spending time with others. Many of us have busy schedules and it can be hard to meet up with each other with all of our responsibilities. Reaching out to our friends and seeing when we can arrange a time to hang out is good since it helps strengthen our relationships. Planning for an event is much easier when all of us are on the same page since it ensures we get enough time for fun. This is also useful even with our own schedules. Having a planner lets us write down when we're busy along with seeing when we can do things we enjoy. Getting into the habit of seeing what responsibilities you have on a given day can help free up time for other areas.

Give Yourself Flexibility

Even some of the most consistent routines have some degree of flexibility to them. This is helpful because we want to make sure we have enough room to experiment when we are in the mood to. One example of this can be going on a jog to some different areas that we're used to or even listening to different music. Little things like these help us get outside of our comfort zone while still having a sense of routine to make us happy. We can also opt to do our assignments at different times of the day so we can add new plans to our schedule. One example of this is getting our homework done early so we can spend time at a friend’s house. Flexibility allows us to have consistency while still being able to adapt to new things that come up.

Know What You Love

Self-awareness is the key to a healthy routine. When we know what we love, it becomes that much easier to establish a routine that empowers us. Our hobbies are a great example of this since these are things we do in our spare time for fun. Creative outlets give us the ability to focus on expression while physical activities help us take care of our bodies. Our friends help provide a stable social network while our families help take care of us and provide love. Happiness can look like something unique depending on who you ask. For some, we might value more time to ourselves while others may want to build their routine around events. Everyone values different things and being able to build your routine around the things you care about is important for your well-being.
