Happiness And Self-Love

Finding the right balance between loving others and loving ourselves can be a challenge. While it is good to display compassion to others we also want to be gentle with ourselves. Self-love can be one of the most sustainable practices to work on as it can provide a great amount of happiness in our lives. Today we want to take some time to talk about the importance of happiness and self-love.

It Builds Compassion

Understanding the importance of pain is crucial in regards to self-love. Sometimes we may be hurting, either physically or emotionally. When this happens it is good to take time to be introspective and see what elements are affecting us. If it is something someone else has done, we can take time to internally make peace and remind ourselves that we are still loved and valued. If it is something that we have done then we can make some space and assure us that things will be okay. The reason why self-love builds compassion is that it makes us aware of the internal thoughts of hurt by our own experiences and converts that energy into something actionable and positive for someone else. The act of caring for ourselves allows us to share joy and love with others.

It Promotes an Abundance Mindset

An abundance mindset and self-love are more related than we may think. Rather than viewing love as something that is limited, self-love can be considered to be infinite in nature. One reason for this is that the only thing preventing us from providing that sort of care is the effort we put in along with our mindset. Perspective matters as it can affect how we view happiness as well. Happiness isn't something that is limited, rather it is a culmination of our emotional state along with how we choose to respond to any challenge we face. Instead of requiring someone else's affection, we can focus on making ourselves happy first to display that we are capable of recognizing our own value and worth.

It Teaches You About Your Emotions

Our emotions can be affected by many things such as other people, or our reactions to the world around us. Being okay with how we feel is a lesson that may take some time to learn but one that is ultimately worth it. Self-love helps put us on this path and reminds us that being in harmony with our feelings is a gift. When we are mindful of whether we are happy, or sad, we can meditate on it and see what works for us and be gentle when we feel otherwise. Self-love teaches us that our emotions can empower our thoughts and promote even more happiness. It reminds us that everyone feels differently about things and can help get us closer to relating and empathizing with others.

Self-love is something we need to consider every step of the way in our lives. It can give us the energy needed to do our best and to make the most of our relationships.
